Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

The United States of America is a young country. We are unique, an experiment in human endeavor. Our founders created a new form of governance, built upon the experiences of kingdoms and empires before us, that nevertheless established our system of federalism and state's rights which are rare amid the community of nations and societies.

National Priorities

For the time being, as long as we have a constitution and a two-party system, we must work to improve, modify or participate in the shaping of our country through these vehicles.

  • Support REAL socialist policies that surpass Bernie Sanders’ puny efforts: Guaranteed annual income for all, free college education for all, free housing, medical access for all. This will push the existing left-center, farther to the left and quite possibly force a Republican Congress to step back toward the center rather than swing to the far right.

  • Support nationwide alternatives to ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council), the right-wing nonprofit of conservative legislators and private sector reps that draft model state-level policies and legislation to get conservative issues adopted. Progressive legislative alternatives must develop and forward progressive issues at the state and local level.

  • Go after key Congressional seats that will come up for election/re-election in 2018, and continue strategically in the future.

  • Strategically identify key states (Ohio, Florida, etc.,) and begin putting progressive governors/legislators into office in those states. Better still, move there and change the culture.

Fight Strategies

November 9, 2016

We have to begin somewhere. While people have been working for years toward a more equitable society, toward justice and unity, some of us will have to start anew.

The following suggestions will range in scope. They will be updated as new information becomes available, as people express their creative ideas, and as our struggle matures.

Nothing Sexy About It

Substantive change takes time. In our age of instant gratification, with the digital world at our fingertips, we forget that changing hearts, minds and countries takes decades. Those disappointed by the primary process, those bored with the same old politics, must roll up their sleeves and realize that true change occurs with careful planning and dedicated hard work. It takes years. Remember: we fought a revolution in 1776 but had no constitution until 1789. Nearly 14 years later.
